Saied Toossi, PhD

Welcome! I am an applied quantitative researcher with a passion for using data and statistics to produce high-quality, rigorous research that enhances decision making.

As a Research Economist at the Economic Research Service (ERS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, I conduct research on the agency's food assistance programs and contribute to the development of major government surveys. Prior to joining ERS, I served as a Research Associate at Syracuse University's Center for Policy Research and at Northern Illinois University's Center for Governmental Studies.

I received my Ph.D. in Public Administration  (concentrations: policy analysis and applied microeconomics) from The Maxwell School of Syracuse University. I also hold an M.A. in Economics from Northern Illinois University and a B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
